I didn't realize how important it is to share your rape, sexual assault, sexual harassment or unconsensual touching of any time with people. I made the mistake of telling my story to the one person who wanted to back up my assaulter, since then I found a way to make jokes about it, take full responsibility and let him get away with it. It wasn't until a more recent sexual assault at the Team 10 house that I realized there are many people in the world who are rape apologists and side with the accused for no other reason than that they just don't want to believe it. I am trying to be better and speak my truth more to inspire others to do the same. Make sure to check yourself whenever you read about celebrities you like that have a past of assault, when you hear of a mutual friend who has a story about someone you know, or even when a friend/family member tells you a story of their own. There is no excuse. Speak up, believe your friends, listen and learn. Just because someone doesnt say "no" doesnt mean they said yes.
