He has a Daughter Champa, and an adopted youth Madho(Bharat Bhushan). Once,camping near village Belapur, Madho and Champa find a cute Flute player Raju. Soon there is love in Raju and Madhu. He tells Raju(Suchitra Sen) that Champa is like a sister to him, whereas Champa also loves him. Veera (Pran) loves Raju. Thus Champa and Veera are against this love couple. Champa tell Raju to keep away from Madho as she is to marry him. Raju stays away from Madho. Lakha wants to dig a well for drinking water. While the work is going on, Veera informs Lakha about Madho and Raju. Once Madhu is bitten by a snake and only the flute of Raju can bring back the same snake to suck back the poison. Champa begs Raju and Raju saves Madho. Veera,to take revenge, ignites the Dynamite brought for digging the well, but falls in it and dies. Madhu and Raju who are in the well are saved by Champa who also dies in the attempt, thus paving the way for the marriage of Madhu and Raju...
